I havent given up blogging for lent!!!

Hey all!!

So many of you may think that I may have given up blogging for lent, well i can assure you that I haven't. Unlike some people (random one) I have been hard at work and by the time I have got home, to be fair i cant be bothered, harsh maybe but its true!!

So what's been happening I hear you cry? Well even if you dont wanna know I'm going to tell you whether you like it or not :)

Well I have been moving things into the flat slowly and steadily, havent realised how much stuff i actually have, and like Amy I have taken alot of stuff down to the charity shop. So recently I have brought a bed (from IKEA) and a vacuum (from e bay, £26 for a Dyson, bargin). I am also acquring things left right and centre which is helpful when you are moving for the first time and you havent got the income to buy things.

Apart from flat stuff I havent really been doing much outside of work and church stuff. I want to say thanks for things people have given me so far for the flat and I will be in touch with people when I will have a house or in this case flat warming party.

On one final note, I just wanted to say good luck and bon voyage to my best mate in the whole world, good luck my friend and know that we all are praying for you!!

Im on the scrounge!!

Hello!!

Indeed it has been a long time since my last post, I have been a busy boy, working lots, and so priorites come to a head in these situations, and sleep and other things came to the forfront.

So whats been going on?

Well since my last post I have settled back into work well, its very busy with lots on so I am happy with that as I'd much rather be busy then not. This weekend thats just passed I have been on a residential in Derbyshire at a place called Dovedlae house, really nice place and the scenary was fab too!! I once went there with Breakout (now ignite) and me and a certain other young person (lets say we'll call him Johnny A) almost burnt down the house. There was a fireplace in the room at the time and so we thought we'd make a fire, unfortunalty though what we thought was glass at the front of the fire was actually perspex and so it started to melt and catch fire!!! Martin Whatley and Donald came running in and put it out so all was good! Anyway had a really good time and returned to have a beer at the Vesey last night with some of the others.

So what else has been happening? Well I have decided to bite the bullet and move out of home, scary thing in many ways but I am looking forward to the challenge of fending for myself, being able to have people round, oh and also haviing the many delights that Boldmere has to offer right on my doorstep!! :) I have already got some mugs (thanks EB), cutlery and t towels and towels to my name, as well as my bedroom furniture and some stuff which I am going to try and "borrow" off my parents!! If you have any unwanted stuff then please let me know, and I will see if it's of use to me, I will pay money so dont worry!!!

I am now off for the next two days, Yipee!! and I hope to be in the flat by the end of Feb, so that should be good. Oh and one more thing, i may be on the lookout for a flat mate and so if any ones interested then please apply within!! :)

The day before the inevitable....is that how you spell it?

Well its the day before i go back to work, and I wanted to say that I am feeling a lot more brighter about what will happen when i get back to work, thanks to you guys who left a comment on my last post, i value your prayers and know that God is in control of all things and that I will know whether its right to stay or not, I know alot of you know my difficulties at work but God will make his will known.
Today I havent been up to much, I have had coffee with Jen and Pixie Ju although I am feeling rough as I am under attack from the dreaded man flu, I will try and avoid as many of you as possible as I dont wanna get blamed for the next lot of flu to sweep Bloggers!!
Another worry for me this year is that I am going to be 25!! Yes i realise that this may not be an issue for some people, but I am mid 20's and there is so much I havent done for God, so much I want to do as well as so many places I want to visit, I have broght myself a world map and am going to put dots on it to where I have visited, hoping to provide me with some motivation to go into God's world proclaim his name and make a difference and to also visit and stand in amazement at some of the wonderfull things God has created. What has brought this on I hear you cry? Well its all been inspired from a programme about exploring Borneao (think thats how u spell it). It is a programme where some scientific type people have been going around the jungle and forest's there looking for new animals, existing animals and the effect we have on the areas, ie deforestation. It has been a fantastic watch and I would advise people to see it if it's repeated, simply amazing!!
Anyway tonight I am sorting through my stuff and diary to see what next week has in stall for me at work, tomorrow is alot of face to face work and so I wont be in the office much which is the way I like it.
I hope that i find you all well and flu-less!!
I will indeed be blogging soon again, i think I have caught the bug again after my long lay off!! Hello and welcome to my blogging of 2007....

Well I have now come to the conclusion that the festive season is over for another year, the trimmings and tree came down today and I have those work blues coming into my system!!
Dont get me wong, I actually love my job and so feel like I need to go back to do what God has called me to do, its just I am use to not getting up and doing what i want during the day, ie seeing friends, family etc.
Well seen as i go back Friday i thought i'd cheer myself and maybe even a few of you up with a few photo's of Fuertaventura where me and Chris recently spent a week on holiday, had a fab time even though no surfing was to be had by either of us.
I do want to say though that this past few days have opened my eyes alot more as to what is important in life and to what extent God plays in all this. I go into this year not knowing if I will have a job at the end of March as the funding runs out, and although I trust God in where he wants me, I still cant help but worry as to where i might be this time next year, I do pray that God keeps me in the job I am doing but if he wants me elsewhere then I need to start looking as youth work jobs are lengthy in the bit from applying to starting so please could you pray for me during the next few weeks. I dont like asking but I feel a bit anxious at the moment, despite what i act like!
Anyway enjoy the pics, by the way its a sunrise not set just in case you wanted to know, and do you reckon i could take up modelling instead of youth work? :)

How to send money up in smoke!!

Happy new year to you all!

I had a fantastic evenings entertainment round at the posh bird's house last night with some of the crew, was a good evening and I can say now that house parties are much better then going out, and although i had 2 beers, i didnt mind and had a good chuckle at people whilst driving home who had clearly had one too many!! ( by the way they were only small beers i had so was ok to drive!!). One in fact made me and Nat chuckle immensly!!
Anyway a good evening was had by all, including a festive game of family fortunes, which Mr Clayton hosted well.
This morning i got up and was eating the New Years breakfeast which I always have (this being a fry up!!) and was watching the news to see the amount of fireworks going up in various places including London, Cardiff and Edinburgh. Don't get me wrong i love firworks, many people have enjoyed the wonders of my back garden being blown up each year, but what really got me was that the ones in London cost £1 million pounds!! I was gobsmacked. In the world we live in where people go hungry, are homeless and in need and our government decides that £1 million of fireworks is a good idea?!
Perhaps I'm being odd but i feel that money could be better spent else where, not just in the 3rd world but even in England, anyway there's my rant over with, I am in total amazement at how much they cost and it has made me think about whether I should have a fireworks or just give the money to something more needy.
Tonight I have eaten dinner, washed up and made drinks for the family and now am enjoying listening to the new Beatles album, very good by the way!! I will be indulging in my addiction tonight as I got sacked on Championship Manager earlier today so need to restart, yeah I',m sad but my team is about as good as Forest in real life, loosing to Oldham 5v0 isn't good.

Just one more thing (mainly aimed at Teapot), the van i had is a small dicast model and not the real thing but the real thing is a possibility, just need to convince the Olds that its an investment!! Anyone wanna go halves and we could do it up together?
I CAN BUT DREAM!!

My Last Post of 2006!

Dear all!

Yes i am still blogging. Many of you may have thought that I'd given up on this and not bothering in the future, but alas I am here.
This year has been one in which alot has happened, i havent really commented on whats happened with Matt and Chris because i really dont know what to say.
This year i have been blessed alot by God, I gained my qualification in youth work and the first job thjat i applied for in something i felt God had given me gifts in was offered to me. I was in turmoil for many reasons which i wont go into now, because i wasnt sure whether to take the job, and then out of the blue Matt phoned me, i had a good relationship with Matt and Heidi, especially as i had just finsihed my placement with Heidi so saw alot more of Matt, and how blessed I feel to have had that. Anyway Matt had said he had been pryaing for me and that he felt it was the right thing to do, so along with this as well as some advice and prayer with others i took the job, and I would so like to say thanks to Matt for telling me what he felt, one day although i know I'll tell him when we meet him and Chris.

Anyway apart from me getting the job, alot of other stuff has happened too. Many of you will know i was blessed enough to be able to go to Brazil for three weeks in July to see the Wilsons which i really enjoyed and met some people i will never forget as well as the team, oh what fun we had with the I-Pod and my so called singing of Johnny Cash and Jimmi Hendrix, something which me and Al enjoyed.

I wanna say something to all the bloggers who are reading this. I love and value each of you as my brothers and sisters through Christ. I am thankfull for being able to rely and talk and pray with you, and I want each of you to know that i am here for any of you, all you have to do is call or e mail me.
This year for Christmas i got a build your own camper van off my brother and his girlfriend, which i think may be better then Mr Jez Dearing's!!

What a Week!?!

Well i know it has been a week since I last post, just wanted to let you know I am still here and willing to post, one of the reasons I havent been recently is due to the fact I have been working so much its silly, this week excluding today i have done over my hours and next week i will be into the 50's!
So i have loads and loads on but dont really wanna talk about work, only to say that last friday the urban arts, or graffiti workshop went really well and watch this space as the work will be appearing in the Libary very soon, just need to get the OK with the management there, so if you want to go and see what i do for a living then go down, it will also be going in the paper!

Just to say that my mum is also on the mend, thanks for all your prayers and texts to me to see how she is. She had a camera put into her knee, as she has really bad artheritus and struggles to do most things that we may take for granted. Anyway she had a couple of bits of cartlidge sitting in a bottle next to her chair in the living room, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm nice!! She should be at church again on Sunday, so make sure you say hi :)

I am off to work again in a bit, tomorrow looks like I will be playing footie :) and will report to you if i get sent off again. Sunday like Mr EB i am involved in the service, talking about my experiances of mission, that will be in the sunday evening.

Just to say make sure you watch the mighty FOREST on the 3rd of Decmeber on BBC 1 in a FA cup 2nd round match away to Salisbury City (Who!!), Im sure it will be a good game, might have some people over if your free, let me know!!

Just to say also my pc is going to be reapired again for the next few days so i wont be psoting for that reason, but as soon as I'm back i will post a baby picture of me online, i promise!!

On a different and more serious note, could you pray for me and my family, my mum went into hospital today, just for the day for an op on her knee and so i just want God to be in the situation which I'm sure he is, and to give my mum the pain releif from the artheritis that she deserves. It will be a tough time coming up as she is going in twice more soon, once to have her hip replaced and then also again to have an op on her knee. Im worried as any one would be, it is a normal procedure but if you could pray for her, i would be most grateful.

Me, well i am off to the friday diner now to get a spud with the chilli and the cheese!! Then off to work, we have the youth cafe @ McDoanlds today and then i have a graffiti workshop tonight which should be good, will let you know how it goes.

Good Morning Friends!!

I hope that you are all well and keeping out of trouble!! Last night was a top night, lots of fun and laughter was had by all people who went and Cath and Aimee did the church proud (in a humble way!!). Our team was gracious in defeat although i think alot of my team saw a different side to me last night, the fact that i am very competative and even got a comment of Miss Wells that if im like this over a quiz what must i be like on a football field!! Only one way to find out, come and watch but i do warn you I am worse!
Anyway my team finished 4th only one point behind the Baynams and Dr Spooner, who may i add was brilliant last night too, and many many points behind Gore and Badger's team who took all the glory and won. I was thinking when Spoon was talking about what it means to me to pick up my cross and follow god, and to show the love of Jesus to all the people i can in my life, especially to get them to come to stuff like the Curry evening, the caberet evening and stuf the church does as outreach, and although its a bit early i will be making this my new years resoulution to do this, i have some people at work who i feel want to know more as the question me alot and are asking questions so for me to get them to know Jesus and to have him in their lives should be my life's mission.
Anyway enough about my life, i hope you are all doing well, the question i left on my last blog was too difficult so i want to know the worst film you have seen and why?

Oh and check out Aimee's blog and give generously, she doesnt have clothes as she buys expensive bags and on hair products!!

What a Weekend!!

Alright People!!

What a weekend, I have had a top weekend, a nice relaxing one, which I havent had for a long time to be honest so was fab to have.
On Friday night both myself and the girl i do my detahced youth work with took a group to a chinease in Boldmere, was fantastic evening and we both felt as if we are making in roads into these broken and hurting young people, and that is what motivates me to do my job, to try and help change young people and get the most out of them!
Anyway the meal was fab and then after that i picked up my suitcase and beer, and boardgames and headed off to Doomsdale house in Staffordshire, near Alton Towers to join some other guys on a weekend away at a YHA.
It took me 2 hours as i got lost a couple of times, at one point reversing down a single track with a massive drop on one side which i got close too may i add.
Anyway the weekend was brill and i chilled and relaxed with friends, they all went for a walk on Sat and although i would normally join them i wanted to relax and enjoy the view, we could see the castle at Alton Towers and some of the rides.
I returned on Sunday to the knowledge that people are coming round for fireworks at mine, previous years have seen fireworks being fired at the crowd after it fell over, the famous burning bush, although probably different to the one Moses saw, and also the bird table on fire, which i had to replace with a new one, Mum and Dad are legends to let me blow up their garden every year, but this year for some reason i felt more responsible and i feel it may be the last year..............I KNOW dont say it, im getting old and responsible.
Anyway no injuries or fatlaity's so another year is good!! It was cool to see my mates again, I love spending time with you all!! The Mishkids were there, minus the BAG Wellzie!! Anyway a good time was had by all i think so thats good!
So today I went to work all is good, had a Councellor come and see the youth cafe, joy's!!

So wanted to say to all of you, it was good to see you last night if you came, the picture of me on Dave's blog is awful!!

Much love to you all, off to the Curry and Quiz tomorrow night so that should be a barrel of laughs, prob more funny then that bloke @ church on Sunday night!!

Just a note to Shelagh, good question about the favorite childrens programme, though provoking!! So i thought I'd ask what people's favorite film is of all time, i think mine is either Shawshank Redemtion or the original Itailian Job, but if you wanna comment about Kidz TV then do so!!

By the way the pictures are ready of people from Brazil and will be on tomorrow, they will be the most embarrasing ones I will have of people!!

Alright Treacles!!

It is I the Jolly Green Giant back to speak to you all from my blog, yes it has been a while since i last posted, but i assure all my fans and readers that I wont be that long again, it was just my computer was a bit more porrly then what i first thought so took longer to fix, but I'm back now so wahooooooooo!!!
So I am writing to you after what can only be described as a quick weekend, how they fly and then BANG its Monday morning again and I'm struggling to get out of bed, not because I dont want to, i just know that the nights are drawing in which means the mornings are dark and flippin awful where as in the summer is light and sunny most mornings.
Anyway today was a good day, although work is a little stressful, and there is alot of tension around the office, I know why, and it has nothing to do with me, thankfully!
So the weekend was on the whole a good one, although i got asked to play for the 2nd team on Sat and despite playing OK, and being shattered after, and i mean shattered, my shirt was ringing wet with sweat, mmmmmmm nice, we lost......12v1!! Friday was fab, enjoyed catching up with mates at the curry and sharing that good old joke from Brazil, if you want to know what it is, you'll have to ask me in person, as i will get banned from all blogs otherwise, and to see Heidi and others was good, sitting next to Amy was a laugh and of course Shelagh was hilarious and enjoy spending time with you all!

He is risen, Tarquin is alive!!

Hi all

I am writing this as I have to inform people that i wont be blogging for a few days because my computer is going to be cleaned and fixed up so that it isnt as slow as it is at the moment, more slow then tarquin has been over the past two weeks. So here by ends my blogging for the forseable future, prob till the weekend.
On that note i would like to inform people and Gregory in particular that Tarquin will be on the road again tomorrow, at the cost of £110!! Plus more to come as my exhaust needs some attention ASAP!! Glad its pay day next week! So all in all today has been good, work was productive and I am nearing to book my holiday for December with Mr Reeves to go to the sunny cannaries and learn to surf, had a bloke phoning me trying to convince me today to book on a late deal which we may do, just need to see if Chris is OK with the dates, he commented that the ladies are good eye candy, i was like, yeah cus thats what im getting away for...not. But the deal is quite good so will have to wait and see, watch this space.
Today i also took 4 of my group from the Youth Cafe to bowling in Tamworth and am happy to report i won both games with a 122 and a 117 games, which i was quite chuffed at. I am quite tired today though, and have got a cold sore, i know its stress related but there we go, this also being the reason i aint sleeping brill at the moment either.
So as this is my last blog for a few days i thought id be naughty and put on here some pictures from Brazil which i know will provoke some stern looks of the people in them, one of which threatened to kill me on Sunday if i put one picture up, i'll let u guess who it is :)
Finally i got some encouraging words off a good friend last night, i wont name name's but you know who you are, and wanted to say thanks for them, i needed to here what you said in church to me, so thankyou!!

Your all stars, and i will see most of you on Fri night for the curry!

It's Sat and you know what that means.....!

Good evening all!

Well today as you are all aware is Sat and I for one love this day, and look forward to it all week cause it means it's football day!
Let me tell you how a Saturday usually goes. I get up around 10-1030 as its the weekend i like to lie in on one of the days, and as i do a group on a Sunday morning, i dont get the chance in the morning like id like to, yeah i know i'm lazy but i dont care. Anyway i usually wonder downstairs and sort all my footie gear, which today included putting my new boots in, they are the comfiest boots i have ever owned, if only they were black and not white!! Anyway i usually watch cookery programs, catch up on the local news by reading the Observer or Sutton News and then cook and eat with some OJ, two poached eggs on toast which is around 1130, this is because i get stitch really easilly so need to eat way before kick off which is at 230pm. I then proceed to relax and watch a little bit of Footie Focus before leaving home at around 1 to get to the ground before half one, so that i can warm up etc.
So today we played a team from Boldmere and got whooped 5v0!! I did start but as a centre half, which i didnt too bad at, it was just they were much better then us, they have lost one game since the start of last season. We were 2 down at half time and so the manager wasnt happy, some words were said and it ended with one of our players almost having a fight with our manager, as i watched i thought that life is too short for this, i love football and want to have a game every week, even if we get beat heavilly, i just wanna play and not get involved. Anyway we went 4 down before the boss took someone off and put me up front, something i had been itching to do as no one was holding the ball up, the two guys up there were the same height as Jez and so didnt win much!!
We ended up loosing 5v0 and the changing room was very somber after with the manager saying he may resign, something which i dont feel is nessersary, but we shall see.
Tonight i am staying in as no one has said otherwise do i presume people are all in, although i doubt it. So beer, champ manager and planning for tomorrow are all on the cards.
I would just like to put that this week has been one of stress and have bundled my way through and so if anyone is reading this, i am sorry if i havent been myself, work is tough and I'm struggling to keep my head above the water, but with prayer and faith I can get through this. I just wanted to say i care and love you all to bits, and i love hearing off you!

Morning all

Hiya all!!

I hope i find each of you well and none of you are still suffering from the flu like virus which apparantly i am to blame for, it's spread far and wide so it was a bad'un!
I must apologise to Cath for that picture in my last entry of my blog...so sorry!! I am still struggling without my loyal friend Tarquin being with me in travel at the moment, he is still sitting on the drive and unloved and slightly lonely....i think he misses Gregory (Al's car) as they havent seen him in a while.
So yesterday i went to work and it was OK, wasn't stressful compared to Wednesday so we can but hope today is the same, although I have got Youth Cafe and also Detached tonight, but to be fair i love doing face to face youth work so its all good. I know that in previous blogs i have doubted my gifts in this area and my friend Heidi will no doubt agree when i say that i focus to much on the negative things rather then the positive ones in my youth work. While on placement with Heidi at the Green Door (Shakin Stevens song about this place rocks!!) really opened my eyes that i do need to look at the positive aspects of my youth work and not the negative ones, so thank you Heidi, your a star!!
So this weekend I am back playing football, my ban is looming large but somehow i still manage to keep my place in the first team, although i do feel i may be warming the bench again tomorrow, but we shall see. I brought two pairs of boots on Tuesday when i went shopping with the Elfred. Unfortunatly the one pair i brought were white and so i know that i will get kicked harder, it's a rule in football that the more poserish the boots the harder you kick them.....hmmmmm oh well, the others were black, I only got them cause they were cheap and also Elfie looked bored stiff!!
Anyway so that is Sat sorted and Sunday well i think that I will end up being lazy and chilling at home, doing those annoying jobs that take forever to do like cleaning my room.
Sunday no doubt i will end up in the Bishop Vesey playing cards or chatting with the SCBC Crew!

Youth Work is one busy sector....IT IS!!

Hiya!

I realise i havent posted for a while and although i told Dave B i would on Tuesday night after i got home from the Charlie Hall pub i got home and unfortunatly didnt, felt a bit sick so went to bed, was probably the day i had, as i had been in town for some of the day with my mate the Elf or as some know her, Dobbie the hosue Elf :)

Anyway so what else have i been up to? Well as my good mate Heidi will no doubt back me up in the week before any school holiday is always manic, trying to get consent forms in, trying to book things and all the final details. I have booked two trips for the Young people at McDonalds, one to Tamworth for Bowling and one to Ice Skating at Solihull, hopefully they will behave as this will be the first trip i have taken some of them on.

Yesterday was probably the most hectic day i have had since i started this new job, i worked a 12 hour day which was tough, as I hope Heidi will support me, youth work isnt just pool and table tennis!!

Today im not in till 12 and finish at 7 so not too bad, looking forward to the weekend and what that will bring, back to the playing football and who knows i might see red again!!!

Well what a weekend so far?!

Friday night after work i went to the Parkhouse and saw some mates, and caught up with them, one of them Heidi, decided to ask me if I'd been doing my sex work on the streets as i was about to order my pint of Strongbow, i think i must have gone red cause the barman asked if i was ok, lol!!
Then after that i got my first ride in 'Gregory Julian Sellers', Al's new beast, and we have decided to start a new group for men who own slightly camp looking cars, like Tarquin and Gregory or 'Jules' as some have named him.
Sat came and it was time for the big game, Villa vs Spurs!! There were quite a few of us going, and we were all dotted around the ground. Once we had got the train and met everyone at the station at Aston we all proceeded to our areas of the ground making sure we didnt loose either Jez or Julia, being small they needed to be seen at all times!! We sat at our seats and proceeded to watch the game, I was sitting with Al who is a villa fan, Julia who is a spurs fan and me who was a neutral, too busy thinking about how the mighty reds were going at Gillingham (by the way we won 1v0 and are still top!!). There was also Cath and Jez on the oppisate side of the ground (both spurs fans) with Jez in his Hull City beanie hat, they were sitting with Al's mum and dad.
After watching what can only be described as a game with everything, 2 goals, one of which was a hilarious own goal (good finish though), a penelty miss and a sending off, which cath and jez didnt know until near the end of the game, dont ask!!!
On the way out of the ground Al, me and Ju decided to buy some doughnuts, mmmmm they were good, little did i realise as a saw a Audi A6 pulling away with the guy dropping litter out the car, that Al had thrown the empty bag into the car through the window, i was like wow!! Impressive shot, he deserved it anyway....well thats what me and Al thought!!

So yesterday was a top day, and i really enjoyed being with me mates, and watching a forward in dreadfull form as well as making an ass out of himself and not actually not being that forward!! Two weeks until my ban by the way.
Tomorrow will bring more additions to the collection of photo's from Brazil of all the team!! Yes including you Aimee!!

Morning all!!

I am writing this thinking what time the 905 runs from the bottom of the road and actually how much is a bus ride these days??
You may know or guessed that Tarquin, my faithful gay coloured car is on my drive, i'm not sure whats wrong with it at the moment, so for me it's the bus!!
On another note, i thought I would add some more pictures of Brazil, taking insperation from Dave although mine arent as good as his, but funny all the same, please dont hurt me if your in them!!

Storming Morning!

Morning all.
So this morning is my morning off this week as I'm not into work till 2pm as i am working till 10pm tonight. I do look forward to my week lie in as I like to catch up on my sleep. Unfortunatly i didnt get the lie in, due to many factors, one being the storm that was over Sutton, it even cut the power to the house, which i could deal with, but then my neighbours hosue alarm went off and so woke me up and with them being at work is still going off right now......Joy!
Hope that your all ok people! I hope that you don't think that i am a moaner, I'm not, thank goodness that im working late tommorrow and that i have a lie in then as well!

Alright Treacle's!

How Do!!
So i haven't posted for a while so thought i'd add something today and let you know what i have been up to.
Alot of people have been asking me about the blog and asking to put some stuff up, and others have asked not to put some pictures up, you know who you are so i wont embaress you.
Had an OK weekend, and i also went from zero to hero after i scored the winning goal on Sat for my club with 3 minutes to go to win the game, quite good even though i'd been dropped to the bench for my in disciplin the week before, and also paid my fine off. On Sat night had Wellzie baby and my brother from another mother, Alan for sweet and sour chicken, was good if i say so myself!
Sunday i went to church in the morning and then went to lunch with my ladies!! Then went to church in the evening and then came home to clean the house before the Olds came home from their holiday.
So today (Tuesday) I went to work and then realised i had training this afternoon to be able to distribute condoms to young people, and i am happy to say that i am now qualified, what a life i lead eh!!
I am also being blamed for the flu which is affecting women, men and reindeer alike. I would like to state that i caught it off my mate Woody from Liverpool, i hope this clears it up, not a pun!!

Not sure what i will do tonight, think i will just relax and have a beer or three.

Crawling towards the weekend!

Well today has been one of those days that kinda floats past you, and not really noticing whats going on.
This morning i went into Birmingham to do some shopping for a project I am leading at work which is a youth cafe, upstairs in McDonalds, it runs three afternoons a week between 3-6pm. I brought some games and a CD/Radio player amongst other stuff, but me being me, didnt like to splash out too much. I returned from Birmingham, and plonked all the stuff in the office ready to use next week and I sat down and started to wonder whether this was God's calling upon my life to be a youth worker, I'm the kinda person as some may know that struggles with accepting gifts and recognising I have them, suppose it's due to the past few days, I have been struggling mentally with everything thats going on at work, home and in my own life as a whole. I know this sounds silly.
Anyway after getting back into the masses of work I have to do, i came home looking forward to dinner, which was a microwave dinner for one, the first since the parents left on Sat, have eaten fresh all the other days!! I cooked it to what it said on the packet sat down with a beer and my lasagne, only to find it tasted foul and was still semi frozen in the middle....mmmmmm!!!

So thought forget it, cant be bothered to cook anything else (feel lazy today) so had some fruit only to discover the pear i bit into was so under ripe i nearly broke my teeth!!

Tomorrow is going to be a long day, am on a split shift, so am in 10-12 then 2-9ish, plus i had to ban 3 guys on Wens from the youth cafe so may have some trouble tomorrow, so if anyone sees a riot van outside McDonalds in Sutton tomorrow, you know why :)

Anyway, am beggining to love this blog thing and finding it a good way to keep in touch somehow with people!!

PS by the way i finished the Boy meets Girl book, its fabtastic! Looking for another book to read, seriously, i dunno whats got into me, i only have ever read the bible, Roald Dahl books and where's wally before......WEIRD!

Good Evening my Friends!!

Well it has been a while since i last post so thought it would be best to put a post up.
This week has been draining, work is sooooooo busy, just not as many hours in the day as i need to work in, go loads on and the boss is away with man flu now so have to pick his load up as well.

I love my job but am finding it hard going at the moment, not sure why but I will carry on, also my parents have been away so have been cleaning, cooking, ironing and genrally looking after the house, even shopping, so am getting well domesticated!! Get me!!

I hope that all of you are doing well, I am thinking of you all, and I am praying for you as well.

I will post again tomorrow, and I will try and add something worthwile, i have had my report for the sending off, and i only have a fine of £23 so bonus!!!!

When Sat comes, you'll experiance something you havent before!

Good Evening all!

Thought I'd blog about the day i have had today, it has been an interesting day and something happened to me which hasnt before....can you guess? Some of you already know and so i wont draw it out any longer.

Like most Sat afternoon's I endevor to keep fit and kick a piece of blown up leather around some grass with 21 other blokes, something which i enjoy alot and actually on occassion does give me chance to talk about church and my job.

Anyway I am currently playing for the 1st team, yeah i dunno why either! We were playing in Erdington today, near Pype Hayes and the team we were playing were second in the league i think. We started well, and by half time we were 2 up and playing really well, this is went it all went wrong, oh and I was playing well, although i had missed a couple of half chances, as always!

During the second half they pressed us for a goal and they did pull one back. Then i gave away a free kick and as i ran away i kicked the ball away which in football is a bookable offence, so had my name taken and the prospect of a £8 fine, something which hasnt happend, but more was to follow. 2 mins later they equalised and the guy who scored ran away from the goal topless which in football is a bookable offence too, hence i decided to be naughty and point this out to the ref who then went and booked the guy while i suffered alot of abuse of the opposing players for unsporting beahviour which i just laughed off, hey i mean i get threatened that they will break my neck most weeks, like 2 weeks ago when i kinda got in a little frakcar with another guy. Anyway the ref booked the guy and then proceeded to walk over to me and ask for my name, i was like you booked me 2 mins ago, thinking cant he remember??? anyway he said i shouldnt have pointed it out to him that he should book the guy so proceded to give me a second booking meaning i get sent off the pitch and the prospect of a £30 fine instead!!
The moral of the story? I dunno, i probably do it again next week before my 2 game suspension!! So today i got booked and sent off, something which hasnt happened before, anyway its Sunday tomorrow, so it cant all be that bad.....can it?

TFI Friday!!

Ok so Friday is upon us and to be honest I'm glad it's the weekend, well nearly!

Dont get me wrong i love my job at the moment and am really seeing God giving me the gifts i need to be able to do my job, and I am definatly in the place that God wants me to be in, I am making real in grounds into it and also feel as if God has challenged me to get as many people to see the love of Jesus as possible within my workplace, not all have appreciated me talking about this, but even if one person is saved, i will count that a success, but i wont settle for one. Since what happened a couple of weeks ago happened I have been in some form of panic to get as many of my friends and family to go to alpha, and everything but i have had a feeling from God that i need to slpw down and instead of telling people about Jesus but to show to be like him is just as good, dont get me wrong you have to tell them but to be like Jesus is just as important.

So Friday has started and is almost half way through, as its alomost midday here.

Work has taken a second seat in my life and like DB i have been really challenged by the way Matt and Chris lead their lives, always putting people first and not work, something which I want to do!

Finally wanna wish my great friend 'Screech' from saved by the bell, Jack Osbourne and Dennis the Menace look a like a Happy Birthday!! I hope its a good day my friend!

Vernon Kay Lookalike??

Ok so yesterday wasn't my finest hour, repeating my blog entry three times, I feel I am still quite not use to all this techno stuff!

So Thursday has come and almost gone and I am only just writing my daily blog, but I would like to keep it up so will write this entry anyway. I have to say that Thursday to me is the worst day of the week, I never liked them at school, and so that trend continues in my work life!

Last night one of the team I work with was leaving so we went to the pub for a beer to say goodbye. There we met someone else from the YMCA who proceeded to tell most of the Horse and Jockey that I was Vernon Kay, something which alot of people have told me in the past, and then worse someone said I look like 'Mikey' from Big Brother, not that I know what this guy looks like!!

So anyway not a long blog entry today but I just wanted to say that I dont look like Vernon Kay!

Im doing OK today, manflu has all but disapeared apart from my snotty nose...mmmmmm!!! So thanks to people who prayed for the worst kind of flu for a male, something which women call BIRD flu, apparantly they can catch it from chickens???!!

Hope your all OK, be good to see some of you over the weekend, I am now off to have some sleep and a beer (I'm not an alcoholic though!)

Midweek Blues....

So today is Wednesday and its the middle of the week, although I'm in agreement with my friend Dave B who says that he is muddled into what day it actually is, i was in this state over the weekend too, so I think i'm just getting back use to the days now.

There is something about midweek i like, perhaps i know it's cause it's not long to the weekend and the chance to spend some time with my friends and family which during the week can prove tricky as we all have so much on, but part of me thinks that i should wish my life away and that i should make every day as fulfilled and enjoyable as the last, and that i should see my friends, to pray with them or to just 'be' with them is something which anyone who knows me, knows I love spending time with people, i feel God has really called me to be a active listner, and through my job as a youth worker is something which i need to be. I love to pray with people and for people and so being able to spend time with them is something i like doing.

Anyway i think i starting to waffle a little bit me thinks. So my thought for the day on this the world we live is to live today as fulfilling and go for God as much as possible, get out your comfort zone as I feel thats when God uses me more, something which I will talk about later.

Be encouraged my friends to live your life for God, and trust and be faithful that the Almighty God will deliver on his promises!!

What does the cross mean to me?

Ok so today I have been of work again due to a bad case of man flu, something which women have no understanding on, its worse then normal flu, honest, ask anyone thats male and has had it.
So for the past two days I have been reading more (anyone who knows me well knows i dont read that much), and am currently reading a book called boy meets girl by Josh Harris. Its a cool book and i would advise anyone to read it that arent already married, and in some respects people that are may find it good too.

Anyway while reading it i came across a very cool bit about the cross and what it is, a view on the story of the cucifiction which made me sit up and really look at what it means to me, hope you think the same. Here it is:

As the man swings, the Son recalls how he and the Father first designed the medial nerve of the human forearm- the sensations it would be capable of. The design proves flawless-the nerves perform exquisittely. "Up you go!" They lift the cross. God is on display in his underwear and can scarcely breathe.
But these pains are a mere warm-up to his other and growing dread. He begins to feel a foreign sensation. Somewhere during this day an unearthly foul odor began to waft, nt around his nose, but his heart. He feels dirty. Human wickedness starts to crawl upon his spotless being - the living excrement from our souls. The apple of his fathers eye turns brown with rot.
His Father! He must face his Father like this!
From heaven the father now rouses himself like a lion disturbed, shakes his mane, and roars against the shrivelling remnant of a man hanging on a cross.
Never has the son seen the Father look on him so, never felt even the least of his hot breath. But the roar shakes the unseen world and darkens the visable sky. The son does not recognise these eyes.
"Son of Man! Why have you behaved so? Yu have cheated, lusted, stolen, gossiped-murdered, envied, hated, lied. You have cursed, ribbed, overspent, overeaten-fornicated, disobeyed, embezzled, and blasphemed. Oh the duties you have shirked, the children you have abandoned! Who has ever so ignored the poor, so played the coward, so belittled my name? Have you ever held your razor tongue? What a self-righteous, ptitiful drunk, you, who molest young boys, peddle killer drugs, travel in cliques, and mock your parents. Who gave you the boldness to rig elections, foment revolutions, torture animals, and worship demons? Does the list never end! Splitting families, raping virgins, acting smugly, playing the pimp, filiming pornography, accepting bribes. You have burned down buildings perfected terroist acts, founded false religions, traded in slaves. I hate, loathe these things in you! Disgust for everything about you consumes me! Can you not feel the wrath?"

Of course the things that God felt towards Jesus wasnt his actions but ours. I have thought long about these things listed as well as other sinfull stuff that has happend in my life that i have done. The Cross to me is where i feel closest to God, when I confess all i have done and know that 2000 years ago on that cross Jesus Christ took all of it on his shoulder, he showed the whole world how much he loved them and how much mercy he had for each of his people!!

I just want to leave you with the thought of this, not to make u feel guilty but to encourage you that God has shown Mercy and love towards us and that we need to accept it, as difficult as it is, If we confess our sins, through the cross we are forgiven, what love is that.
